Bill of Materials (BOM) Step-by-Step Guide
Getting Started
Accessing Your BOM
Navigate to your style page
Click the "BOM" tab in the navigation menu
You'll see the BOM workspace with a toolbar at the top
Initial Setup Requirements
Before adding components:
Ensure you have a style variant created
If no variant exists, you'll see an alert message
Create a variant first through the Style Details page
Detailed Workflows
1. Adding Individual Components
Step-by-step process:
Click the "Add Component" button in the toolbar
A drawer will open on the right side
Use the search bar to find components
Filter components by category using the chips below search
For each component card:
View the thumbnail image
Check reference numbers
See supplier information
Review compositions
Click on a component to add it to your BOM
The component will be automatically categorized
A success message confirms the addition
2. Managing Component Details
After adding components:
Find your component in its category section
Edit placement:
Click the pencil icon
Enter location details
Click checkmark to save
3. Set consumption:
Enter quantity needed
Specify units
4. Toggle reservation status:
Click the reserve switch
Green indicates reserved
Gray indicates unreserved
3. Using Bulk Import
For multiple components:
1. Click "Import" in the toolbar
Download the template if needed
Fill the template with:
Component IDs
Placement details
Consumption values
Click "Upload"
Review the preview
Confirm import
4. Saving Your BOM
To save current work:
Click "BOM Actions" in toolbar
Select "Save BOM"
Enter a file name
Choose save options:
Save as new version
Update existing
Click "Save"
The PDF will be generated and stored
5. Sharing via Email
To share with team:
Click "Export & Share"
2. Select "Email BOM"
In the email dialog:
Enter recipient emails (separate with commas)
Add a subject line
Write a message (optional)
Click "Send"
System will:
Generate PDF
Send emails
Show confirmation
6. Exporting to PDF
For local copies:
Click "Export & Share"
2. Choose "Download PDF"
Select options:
Full details
Summary view
Click "Generate"
Save the file to your computer
7. Managing Visibility
Control who sees your BOM:
Find the eye icon in toolbar
Click to toggle visibility:
Open eye: Visible to team
Closed eye: Private
Changes take effect immediately
8. Tracking Changes
View BOM history:
1. Scroll to Activity Log section
See all changes listed chronologically
Each entry shows:
Who made the change
What was changed
When it happened
Use filters to find specific activities
9. Completing Your BOM
When finished:
Review all components
Verify quantities and placements
3. Check reservations
Click status toggle
Change from "In Progress" to "Completed"
Confirm the change

Managing Categories
Organize your components:
Components auto-sort by type
Expand/collapse categories:
Click arrow icon
View all items in category
Use category filters in component drawer
Bulk Actions
For multiple items:
Use checkboxes to select components
Available actions:
Delete selected
Update status
Copy to other styles
Troubleshooting Guide
Cannot Add Components
If you see an error:
Check if you have a variant:
Go to Style Details
Create variant if missing
Verify permissions:
Check your role
Request access if needed
Ensure BOM isn't marked complete
Email Issues
If emails aren't sending:
Check recipient format:
Use commas between addresses
Verify email syntax
Try sending to fewer recipients
Ensure PDF generates successfully
Saving Problems
If save fails:
Check internet connection
Verify file name is unique
Ensure all changes are complete
Try saving smaller sections
